Lexie and I met in college at the University of North Georgia. I learned after we started dating, she had a crush on me for a couple of years. However, we did not start dating until our final year of college.

Lexie was a waitress at one of my favorite spots to eat in town. I always thought she was so beautiful and lit up the room every time she walked in. At the time, she was focused on school, and all I cared about was baseball. Neither of us were really thinking about dating.

Despite that, I supposedly missed a lot of hints of her flirting with me over the years. I always thought she was just being nice. We were casual friends for a while. We would go out of our way to talk to one another, give a quick friendly hug if we ran into each other, and wished each other happy birthdays throughout college.

During our senior year of college, she got brave (and with her friend’s encouragement), she asked me to take her on a date! Of course, I was surprised, planned maybe my first date ever of college, and we never looked back. We did long distance for about three and half years before starting our lives together in Savannah, Georgia with our two pups. We dated for just under five years before getting engaged.
